Good morning boys, today is our first lesson in math. The topic is,

NUMBERS AND NUMERATIONS

let us begin the class by studying the Indian lace value chart

The above is divided into 3 periods. 
ones
Thousands 
Lakh


Ones,tens,hundreds belong to ones place.


Thousands and ten thousands belong to thousands place.


Lakh and Ten Lakh belong to Lakhs place.



Q1. From the above table 2 belongs to _______ period?

ans.   ones.

Q2. 8 belongs to ________ period?

ans.   Thousand.

Q3.      6 belong to _______ period?

ans.    Lakh.


Now we are going to learn about which place the number belongs to!
Example: from the above place value chart 
2 is in the ones place
8 is in the 10 thousands place.

Fill in the blanks

1. ________ is in the hundreds place. 
ans. 4

2. ________ is in the ten lakh place.

ans. 9


Now we are going to learn about the face value of a number.

Face value is the way you read the number.
eg. Face value of 4 is 4,
Face value of 2 is 2.


Face value x place = Place value.
